Kacey Musgraves has opened the doors of her home to the public.
In a recent interview with Architectural Digest, Musgraves gave a tour of her new home and some of the unique pieces inside it. After going through the art room, the living room and everywhere in between, the “Justified” singer took the chance to show off her prized possession — a gift from music icon Willie Nelson.
When bringing the cameras into her art room, Musgraves stops to show viewers her beloved piece, which happens to be a framed joint gifted to her by the famous country singer.
“That’s going to stay there unless I need to break it in case of an emergency,” the singer joked. “He rolled this huge fatty and we all sat around and smoked it with him. Then he said, ‘Save the rest for another time,’ and I did.”
She went on to explain that with her new house she has tried to fill it with things that are important to her and her journey.
“This is my fun little entryway. There’s a lot of little tchotchkes and things here that mean a lot to me,” Musgraves said. “With this house, I’ve really tried to embrace a minimalist style. And that’s hard for me because I like to collect things as I go that remind me of a place I was in or whatever.”
Since sharing the joint, Musgraves and Nelson have kept a tight friendship. The pair toured together in 2014, collaborated on her albums Pageant Material and A Very Kacey Christmas, and they took the 2019 CMA Awards stage by storm with their cover of the Muppets’ classic “Rainbow Connection.”
The pair will be reuniting on July 9, as they are both set to headline the Palomino Festival in Los Angeles, which is an event celebrating alt-country music.
