Happy New Music Friday, fam!
After breaking the news in January that a Gospel album was coming this year, Carrie Underwood gave us the first taste of what’s to come from My Savior this March with the release of “Softly And Tenderly.” Underwood’s rendition is truly stunning and that in itself obviously tops our New Music Friday playlist this week, because why wouldn’t it?
“This is an album I have always wanted to record. When I set out to choose these songs, I wanted to include the beautiful, familiar hymns I grew up singing in church,” says Underwood of the upcoming record. “There are several songs I have performed in the past, like ‘Softly And Tenderly,’ ‘How Great Thou Art’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ that mean so much to me and I knew immediately we needed to record for the album. This music shaped who I am as a person and is the foundation of my career as a recording artist. I feel so blessed to get to share these songs with generations of people who love them as I do, as well as others who might be experiencing them for the first time.”
This week found even more releases from today’s biggest Country stars, including Taylor Swift‘s “Love Story (Taylor’s Version);” Florida Georgia Line‘s “Always Gonna Love You;” Brad Paisley‘s “Off Road;” Kip Moore‘s “Man’s Gotta Do;” and Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris‘ “Chasing After You” with other buzzworthy songs coming from emerging artists like Tyler Rich, Restless Road, Tiera and BRELAND, Hannah Dasher, Honey County and more.
