Happy New Music Friday!
The Nashville music scene popped off this week as history was created, thanks to T.J. Osborne being courageous and his authentic self. We also watched music enthusiasts and executives use their voices to help demolish racism and discrimination within the close-knit country community. Therefore, in true country fashion – leading storytellers and even rising-stars came out of the woodworks to release new projects in order to spread joy and unity because, at the end of the day, the power of music does make the world go round.
Celeb Secrets Country generated a jam-packed list of new releases that has something for absolutely everybody. Starting at the top of our list is the mother of Country Music, Dolly Parton, and her remake of the classic 1980 song “9 to 5.” The legend reimagined the track to “5 to 9” for a Super Bowl commercial with Squarespace. While we all know Parton for her lovely vocals, she also has an entrepreneurial mindset that makes her the full package for this ad. “I work 365 [days a year.] I’m always working 5 to 9, 9 to 5. I work all hours of the night any day,” Parton shares with The Associated Press. “Whatever you need to do, you gotta get it done, however many hours it takes.”
With that being said, Dolly Parton is not the only artist grinding day in and day out. The two-time Grammy Award winners and current nominees Dan + Shay dropped the new track “Glad You Exist,” which follows their fifth consecutive and eighth No.1 single, “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” The dynamic duo’s fresh hit delivers a moving message of hope and gratitude to their fans.
“This song has taken on a new meaning not being able to see our loved ones in person, but throughout history, music has always had a special way of bringing people together, even when we are furthest apart,” says Dan + Shay. “These words hold a special place in our hearts, and hopefully they will in yours too.”
Are you itching to add these two hits to your weekend playlist? Well, here are some more earworms that earned high placement on our New Music Friday roundup – Carly Pearce’s “Should’ve Known Better;” Luke Bryan’s “Country Does;” LANCO’s “Near Mrs.;” Eric Church’s “Lynyrd Skynrd Jones;” Chrissy Metz “Feel Good” Remix and Luke Combs and Billy Strings “The Great Divide.” Our weekly rundown includes other buzzworthy songs from emerging artists like Matt Stell, Tyra Madison, Chapel Hart, and Adam Doleac.
