For this week’s New Music Friday, so many of our favorites and Nashville’s up-and-coming artists have dropped new soon-to-be hit singles.

Today (December 8) the Eustis, Florida native Michael Ray dropped a heartfelt ballad “We Should Get A Drink Sometime” via Warner Music Nashville. Written by Thomas Rhett, Rhett Akins, Mike Busbee, and Josh Kerr, the emotionally-penned song captures catching up with an old flame overtop soulful piano.

“I typically end up cutting more songs than I need when I’m in the studio, and sadly that means there are a few that never get to see the light of day,” Ray says about the song.“But this song has always been special to me, and it felt like the right time to put it out there. This one is for those of you traveling home for the holidays and reconnecting with those people in your life that you’ve lost touch with, whether you reach out or run into someone you didn’t expect to see.”

The song follows the multi-platinum songsmith’s current single “Spirits and Demons” with Meghan Patrickand Ray is joining the CMT Hot 20 for their Video of the Year episode premiering Saturday, December 9th at 9am ET.

Other releases that you most definitely have to stream this week are Ashland Craft’s “Hooker,” Kidd G’s “If We Were A Love Song,” Adam Doleac’s cover of Switchfoot’s “Dare You To Move,” Seaforth’s “A Year And Some Change,” Colin Stough’s “Sleep Tonight (Acoustic),” Shane Profitt’s “Good Luck and God,” Jordan Rowe’s “Boots In A Bar,” Redferrin’s “Miss Summer,  Lakeview’s “Drunk Prayer,” and Dani Rose’s “Burden in My Hand.”

Dillon Carmichael released his four-track project Where I Grew Up via Riser House Records. All songs are co-written by Carmichael and features previously released singles “Where I Grew Up” and “Dog, God, and You.” The country artist will be hitting the road in 2024 opening for both Cody Johnson and Jon Pardi, and you can get your tickets here.

Carmichael confessed about the record, “I know a lot of artists are releasing Christmas songs right now, but we wanted to switch it up this year with our own little gift to fans ahead of the holidays. These are four of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. I poured my heart and soul into each of these tracks, and I just hope fans enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed writing them. We wouldn’t be able to release this music without the never-ending support from my fans, so this project is all for them.”

Brandy Clark released her single “Dear Insecurity (Live From The Gorge)” featuring Brandi Carlile and we are OBSESSED.

Meg McRee released her highly-anticipated EP, History of Heartbreak, and teamed up with songwriting heroes Hillary Lindsey and Lori McKenna for emotional “The Moon.”
