For Thomas Rhett, family (and a good glass of tequila) means everything to him.
Last month, the 30-year-old reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year announced his latest project, an ultra-premium tequila brand called Dos Primos, with his cousin Jeff Worn. Spanish for “Two Cousins,” Dos Primos is a blanco tequila made from hand-harvested 100% Blue Agave sourced from estates in Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco, Mexico. The finished product, according to its press release, “offers earthy herbal notes, followed by hints of smooth floral and citrus.”

Inspired by music, family, and the great outdoors, Rhett explained in a statement, “Our decision to create a new tequila brand grew out of just loving being with family. Jeff and I wanted to create a tequila that was expertly crafted and could be enjoyed year-round – regardless of the season or activity – with the people we care about most. Dos Primos is all about who we are and what’s important to us.”
“There’s no greater thrill or commitment than putting your name on something you believe in,” added Worn. “Our names are more than just our reputation – they represent our legacy and our future. That’s not something Thomas Rhett and I take lightly. We are proud and we’re excited to introduce Dos Primos.”
From deciding on its taste to putting personal touches on its packaging — like the black leather cord around the neck that pays homage to the leather bracelets Rhett often wears — the three-year project is something that Thomas tells Celeb Secrets Country he will never forget.
“My favorite memory was — this was when it really became real for me — we had tasted the juice for sure; we had a blank one sent to us in real small bottles and we let some of our friends and family taste it. Once we got our content day set up — me and Jeff were there, Jeff’s wife was there, my wife was there — and we really wanted to make this ad campaign feel like Filson and Patagonia had a baby and it happened to be tequila. That was the very first day that me and Jeff got to hold the real bottle with our juice in our hands,” Rhett shares. “That to me made the entire three year process feel solidified. Getting to capture that on video with photo… those are memories that me and Jeff will have forever — especially looking back on it ten years from now.”
Dos Primos is available in a 750 ml bottle in select U.S. markets now and nationwide soon. You can find more information regarding the product can be found at dosprimostequila.com.
