CMT has unveiled the 10 lucky musicians that scored a spot on their annual Next Women of Country list and the level of talent is off the charts.
The CMT “Next Women of Country” campaign was created back in 2013 when the country music scene was slowly becoming male-dominated. Therefore, CMT took this as a sign to start utilizing their large platform to showcase and support signed and unsigned female artists.
Ever since 2013, CMT has taken the women empowerment initiative to the next level. The female vocalist, a part of the 2021 class, will be frequently featured across all CMT channels.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the newest class of CMT’s Next Women of Country,” says Leslie Fram, Senior Vice President, Music & Talent, CMT. “ These artists represent the best of fresh new talent and the diversity of styles that country music has to offer. We look forward to providing this group more exposure than ever before, particularly within the ViacomCBS family on Pluto TV, as well as providing them with essential resources to help them build their musical careers.”
Throughout the years, the CMT predictions have been spot on, as several “Next Women of Country” alumnae have performed at legendary venues, produced chart-topping tracks, and even became notable names within country music. You may even have some of their names on your favorite country playlist: Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, and Hailey Whitters.
