Tucker Beathard, who will be spending his summer on tour with Brooks & Dunn, premiered a new song, to be found on the second chapter of his debut album called “You Would Think” today (February 21).

Beathard’s debut album was released in 2018 and featured his Billboard Country hit “Rock On” as the album’s debut single, and he has since been busy honing his craft as a storyteller and co-producer (Beathard co-produced the newly released track) which will be showcased on this upcoming release.

“You Would Think” was written by Beathard, along with Donovan Woods, and his father Casey Beathard. Despite Beathard’s father being a co-writer on the track, he told American Songwriter that his impression of the song was a father/son relationship.

“We [the writers] kept it open to interpretation and we didn’t specify what we were talking about,” Beathard told the publication, “but, for me, it was more inspiring to think of it from the perspective of a kid talking to a dad.” You may be wondering what it’s like to have a songwriting session with your father, but Beathard called his father one of his “preferred” songwriting partners because he says their writing styles are different, adding that their songwriting styles, “compliment each other really well.”

Beathard spent the holidays wrapping up his own headlining tour and will be sharing his new music this summer when he joins Brooks & Dunn on their REBOOT 2020 Tour.
