Having just wrapped a nearly month-long tour through the UK and Europe that started with a sold-out show in Amsterdam and included main stage performances at the C2C: Country to Country music festival as well as special concerts for U.S. troops stationed abroad, Hunter Hayes is returning home with a bold outlook on the year ahead and is sharing that message with the world in his audacious new music video for “Yesterday’s Song,”premiering today.

The video, directed by Ryan Hamblin, takes viewers through various stages of Hayes’ musical journey with a surreal twist – and the compelling visual of a massive, shattered disco ball that evokes Hayes’ message of “moving on to embrace a new tune and letting go of ‘yesterday’s song’.”

“Yesterday’s Song” is one of three new tracks Hayes has released from his highly anticipated third studio album, the other two being “Young Blood,” which was recently featured as the theme song for SEC Now’s coverage of the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament and “Amen.” Hayes is a co-writer on all three songs and produced “Young Blood” himself, in addition to co-producing “Yesterday’s Song” and “Amen” with longtime collaborator, Dann Huff.

“Writing and recording for this new album has been a creative journey for me, both as an artist and just as a human,” said Hayes. “I’ve been learning how to let go and just let the process be, not over-thinking every little thing which is something I’m really good at. I’ve been experimenting with new sounds and stretching myself creatively more than ever before, and just embracing life, which I think you can really hear in these songs and I think that comes through visually with this video as well.”

Hayes will launch the U.S. leg of his 2017 tour later this week with headlining performances at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, March 30 and at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, March 31.
