The guys behind the hit number one single, “Smoke” are back and better than ever!
A Thousand Horses, who were up for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards, chatted with Celeb Secrets Country about the nomination and what we can expect to see from them in 2017.
The band’s latest single, “Southernality” is off of their second album, Southernality, and is climbing up the country charts. Check out the video below:
“It was wild to wake up to that phone call. It was huge.”
– A Thousand Horses on their ACM Nomination
“For us to be nominated twice in a row for the same thing by our peers and the country music community is a huge honor. To be supported and know that we’re doing the right thing and people are thinking about us and keeping us in this country music world is absolutely huge,” the band said.
ATH were up for the same ACM award in 2016, but has also been nominated for Group Video of the Year for “Smoke” at the 2015 CMT Awards, and Breakthrough Group/Duo of the Year at 2016 American Country Countdown Awards.

“Anytime we get recognized for our work, it’s an honor,” said A Thousand Horses.
Life has changed quite a bit since the band climbed to the top of the country charts. They’re currently on the road playing shows through July, but can’t wait to get started on amping up their tour experience.
“We’ve been on tour for pretty much the last two and a half years straight,” said A Thousand Horses. “But these last three months we’ve been in creative show mode. People have seen us come to our show maybe once or twice – but we’re like, ‘what can we do this year to step it up and create this new experience that our fans and new audiences are gonna really engage with?’ And that’s what we’ve been working on and we’ve got a lot of big things planned.”
