Shueyville, Iowa, native Hailey Whitters may appear small, but she is as sweet and sassy as they come.
The Songs & Daughters’ singer/songwriter encompasses an All-American female-empowerment type of energy and was once asked if her persona reminds people of any other person. She swiftly responded without missing a beat, “Miranda Lambert.”
Now, the girls look very similar, and if you thought so too, a line of people agree.
Whitters met the hitmaker when she worked at a hair salon in Tennessee in 2012 and got stopped by an interesting bystander.
It turns out, Whitters was being recruited to be Lambert’s body double for the star’s “Fastest Girl in Town” music video.
When speaking with The Boot, Whitters recalls, “I was walking to work at a hair salon, and I got stopped on the street by her music video director. She was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?’” I was like, well, I’m working, actually – let me go in and ask my boss if I can have tomorrow off.”
Whitters was granted the day off, and when she appeared back outside to meet the video director with her response, the “Automatic” singer was standing right there too.
Whitters recalls, “The video director turned to Miranda and said, ‘I think she is going to play you in the “Fastest Girl in Town” video shoot tomorrow.’’
The singer made her country music radio debut with an upbeat song titled “Everything She Ain’t,” which also made its rounds on TikTok. The single also won her the New Female Artist of the Year Award at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards. The single’s accompanying album, Raised reached Number 9 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
This summer, the talented singer/songwriter will hit the stage at Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, MI, Country Thunder Wisconsin in Twin Lakes, WI, and Country Jam in Eau Claire, WI.
