Brad Paisley has released some new music in honor of the city of music and the dreamers who inhabit it!
The new song “City of Music” pays homage to Nashville, as it tells the tale of two main characters who move there to chase their dreams.
In the song, a female character dubbed as the “karaoke queen of Tyler, Texas” and a male character who is a “second-string quarterback junior transfer learning how to play guitar” both find themselves there for the same bigger picture.
After the two cross paths, they end up on a date together and from there the catchy lyrics tell the story of a tale known too well.
“So she sold him some boots on Friday, and he wore ’em on their date that night / They sat around singing George and Tammy, and woke up in a co-write/” sings Paisley. “Maybe it’ll last forever, maybe only a week or two / Sometimes you write the songs and sometimes the songs write you / Tell the truth, play some chords / Pay your dues and praise the Lord/ Cadillacs, four by fours, it’s the city of music / This ain’t no Big Apple or La La Land, Harlan drank right where you stand / Tell the bouncer you’re with the band / It’s the city of music.”
Paisley took to Instagram to promote the new hit, writing, “To those who chase their dreams and find themselves here in this town…this is City of Music. Link in bio.”
However, even if you’re not moving to the city of music, you can still enjoy this music in any city. Fans can all agree this incredible song showcases Paisley’s musical talents and storytelling skills all in one. If there is one thing we know for sure, this new track will be on repeat well into the weekend!
