With the release of his ninth studio album right around the corner, Jason Aldean fans can be rest assured that this is far from his last.
The upcoming album, appropriately titled 9, is a huge career milestone for the country artist. In fact, it’s an album he has been thinking about even before his debut in 2005.
“It’s something that I kind of told myself early on in my career ‘Man it’d be cool — if I made nine albums — just to name the album ‘Number Nine,’” Aldean shared with Celeb Secrets Country, “because that was my baseball number growing up… It was kind of always my lucky number.”
Now, with eight albums under his belt and ‘9’ on the way, Aldean admits he’s achieved more than he ever planned for. But that’s not making him think about quitting the game anytime soon.
“At this point, I kind of feel like it’s a life gig. I can go play shows as long as I want to at this point. I may not be doing it on the level I’m doing them now, but I’ll always be able to go and play if people show up,” Aldean adds, “With the two younger [kids,] I want them to grow up and experience it a little bit. I don’t want them to just see that stuff in pictures from the past. So, I don’t see retiring… maybe ever.”
When it comes down to it, the country singer says it’s his passion for music that keeps him going.
“I’m still just a fan of music. I didn’t get into this to get famous or make a lot of money or whatever,” says Aldean, “When I first started this, it was because I loved playing music and it was fun and it was a hobby. Then I found out I’m not bad at it and that’s why it’s turned into what it’s become. I guess it would be easy to never have to mess with it again or whatever, but that doesn’t seem very fun.”
9 contains sixteen new songs from Aldean, including singles “Got What I Got” and “We Back” that have already soared to the top of the charts.
The album hits the shelves and streaming services on November 22. Be sure to secure your copy and preorder today!
