This weekend, CMT premiered Granger Smith’s video for his current single “Happens Like That” on CMT Hot 20!
His most ambitious music video to date, “Happens Like That” is a visually bold project that brilliantly captures the intense emotion in the song.
Directed by award-winning TK McKamy (Florida Georgia Line “H.O.L.Y.”, Thomas Rhett “Die A Happy Man”), the video stars Granger’s wife Amber and their youngest son, River. “Happens Like That” takes the viewer on love’s journey from a first glance across a crowded room, through a proposal, marriage and eventually starting a family.
“This has been the most extensive music video I’ve done, and we’ve done a lot of them. We shot the video in a massive cornfield and a silo and it gives the video this mysterious tone,” said Granger. “TK had a vision that the imagery would be kind of like a memory and these lightning strikes make time pass through these stages of life and love. It was amazing to have my beautiful wife Amber and my son River on set. My three kids have now all made cameos in my videos.”

“Happens Like That” is the first single off Granger’s new album being released this fall and his fastest rising single. It continues to climb at radio and currently sits at No. 43 at MediaBase and Billboard.
