The Recording Industry of America made a surprise visit to Little Big Town, right before their performance at Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena, Friday night (April 8,2016).
Little Big Town‘s, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet were awarded with an RIAA double-platinum certification for their hit, “Girl Crush.”
“Girl Crush” was written by Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose. The single won two CMA Awards (Single of The Year and Song of The Year), was nominated for Grammy Song of The Year and earned distinction of Grammy Best Country Song. The group also took home a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for this amazing track.
“Girl Crush” was the second single of the album gold-selling sixth album, Pain Killer (Captain Records Nashville). The song remained No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 13 straight weeks – the longest record in the top spot since 1959.
Congrats to Little Big Town from us here at Celeb Secrets Country! It’s been months and we still can’t stop singing it!
