Country music doesn’t get more authentic than Ben Gallaher, and his brand new project is no exception!
Capturing both real emotions and stories from his past, the country star released his highly-anticipated project titled Country in the House TODAY (February 24th) on all music streaming platforms. With 15 phenomenal tracks, it is truly a no-skip album that you NEED to check out for yourself.
In an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets, Gallaher spilled ALL of the tea surrounding Country in the House, as well as even more secrets that you have to keep scrolling to see…
When deciding the name for the project itself, Gallaher focused on the idea that “if it wasn’t for country music playing in [his] house growing up, this dream wouldn’t exist,” leading to the track “Country in the House” and ultimately making its way into being the title of the album.
Aside from “Country in the House,” the selection process for the project’s other songs was VERY tedious.
“We sifted through a couple hundred songs that I’ve written, and, as a team, we chose the ones we felt would best represent me and the type of artist that I am,” he shared.
Additionally, Gallaher revealed that the help of playing unreleased songs and teasing them on social media really made the process easy when it came to picking which songs would make the cut.
While each song was hand-picked by the Pennsylvania native, they all greatly vary in their style, as well as their overall message, taking fans on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.
“Some songs on this album are very personal to me, while others are written about the ups and downs that we all face in life. That’s what country music is,” Gallaher shared with us. “My hope is that listeners latch onto a lyric, a melody or a guitar solo and feel it. We had an absolute blast making this record, and I can’t wait for it to be out into the world!”
In general, Gallaher wants to “take fans on a journey of feeling many different emotions throughout listening to the album,” and it is clear that Country in the House does EXACTLY that.

Celeb Secrets: You are back and better than ever with your new album Country in the House, which is available to stream TODAY (February 24th) on all platforms – Can you tell us a little bit about the meaning/story behind this album?
Ben Gallaher: “Some songs on this album are very personal to me, while others are written about the ups and downs that we all face in life. That’s what country music is. My hope is that listeners latch onto a lyric, a melody or a guitar solo and feel it. We had an absolute blast making this record, and I can’t wait for it to be out into the world!”
CS: Where did the title Country in the House come from?
BG: “The title track ‘Country in the House’ was written with Neil Thrasher and Tony Martin. Neil asked me what type of music I listened to growing up, and I responded, ‘it was always country in our house.’ Neil stopped me right there and said, ‘let’s write that.’ The reason we decided to name the album after this track is because, at the end of the day, that is how all of this started for me. If it wasn’t for country music playing in my house growing up, this dream wouldn’t exist.”
CS: Who/what were some of your inspirations when creating this album in particular?
BG: “In terms of songwriting, some songs on the record are autobiographical, and some were me putting myself in someone else’s shoes. The songs (such as ‘Quote the Bible’ and ‘Roots Grow Down’) that are personal to me and my life are inspired heavily by my parents and my wife.”
CS: How did you decide which tracks were going to make it onto the album? Did it come naturally or did you have a tough selection process?
BG: “We sifted through a couple hundred songs that I’ve written, and, as a team, we chose the ones we felt would best represent me and the type of artist that I am. Performing the songs live and posting teasers on social media have been helpful ways to be able to tell how the fans respond to each song.”
CS: What is your favorite song on the album and why?
BG: “That’s a tough one. People always say you shouldn’t pick a favorite kid.”
CS: Is there a certain lyric within this album that you’re especially proud of?
BG: “From ‘Roots Grow Down,’ a special lyric that holds quite a bit of weight when I sing it is, ‘I’m gonna love you ‘til the roots grow down around me,’ because it’s telling someone that you’ll love them forever in a way that holds so much more meaning than just saying ‘I love you.’”
CS: If fans can take away one thing from this album, what would you want it to be?
BG: “I want to take fans on a journey of feeling many different emotions throughout listening to the album. These songs are my stories and I hope people connect with them.”
CS: If you could describe this album in three words, what would they be?
BG: “Authentic, Edgy and Passionate.”
CS: Your next radio single will be “Lovin’ You Gets In The Way” – Can you tell us a little bit about the meaning/story behind this track specifically?
BG: “The angst and tension of this song made me fall in love with it the first time that I listened. The music and lyrics coexist in a way that creates a vulnerable space that will allow listeners to feel deeply, whether they are going through something similar or not.”
CS: What does the process look like when you create a song? Are there any quirks to your method?
BG: “Some songs are born from a guitar riff, and some songs are born from a lyrical idea. It’s always different for me.”
CS: Is there a certain person that you would really want to co-write with someday?
BG: “A dream co-write would be with Jackson Browne!”
CS: Do you have any plans for live performances in 2023? If so, what fans can expect to see at a Ben Gallaher show?
BG: “We plan to be on the road a lot in 2023 following the release of the album. My shows are always high-energy and pretty fan-involved. I want fans to feel they leave my show having been a part of it in some way.”
CS: Do you have a certain city, venue or festival that you dream of performing at?
BG: “Giant Center in my home state of Pennsylvania would be a pretty surreal moment!”
CS: Do you have any goals for yourself in 2023 career-wise?
BG: “I have many goals for 2023, but mainly to continue writing songs that I am proud of!”
CS: What is something specific that you want to accomplish during your lifetime as a musician?
BG: “I think for any musician that loves and respects country music as much as I do, the number one accomplishment is singing on the Grand Ole Opry stage.”
CS: What has been the all-around most memorable moment in your musical journey so far?
BG: “Touring the Pennsylvania state prisons for 10 years has been one of the most memorable things I have done so far in my career.”
CS: Lastly, since we are Celeb Secrets, do you have any secrets about either yourself or your music that fans might not know?
BG: “I have been driving the same truck since I was 18 years old, and it has made its way into quite a few songs on this record!”
