Luke Combs won’t be “Doin’ This” at this year’s CMT Music Awards

Yesterday (March 23), it was announced that the 31-year-old singer (who is also nominated for two awards this year) would not be taking the stage to perform at the 2022 CMT Music Awards.

According to PEOPLE, a CMT spokesperson spoke out clarifying that the reason Combs wouldn’t be performing is because he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“Unfortunately, Luke Combs won’t be with us tomorrow. He is quarantined with COVID,” the statement read. “He’s bummed to miss seeing everyone!”

The “Forever After All” singer was set to tape his performance today (March 24) for the upcoming show, where he was set to perform alongside Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, Little Big Town, Kane Brown, Carly Pearce, Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson and Kelsea Ballerini.

Combs has yet to comment on the news of his performance cancellation or his current state in COVID-19 recovery.

The 2022 CMT Music Awards will be co-hosted by Ballerini and Anthony Mackie, and the show will air live from Nashville on CBS on April 11 beginning at 8PM ET/5PM PT. Fans can also stream it live and on demand on Paramount+.
