New Music Friday: Brothers Osborne, The Shires, Morgan Wade, Cody Johnson, Maddie & Tae

A list of fresh tracks to elevate your weekend pregame playlist!

Happy New Music Friday!

While several country music megastars took a backseat this week, several Nashville newcomers have come out of the woodworks to show off their savvy songwriting abilities and radio-worthy vocals.

For instance, we have risk-taker Morgan Wade blessing us with her traditional country track “The Night” that showcases her sweet southern twang and Adam Doleac with his good-vibe anthem “Drinkin’ It Wrong,” which is destined to be on every 2022 pregame playlist. While we embrace the breakout stars on the rise in music city – we can’t help but appreciate and turn on Maddie & Tae’s new collection, Through the Madness Vol. 1.

The eight-track collection includes fan-favorites, “Woman You Got,” “Madness,” “Stranger,” and now an impressive collaboration with Morgane Stapleton. Together the three leading ladies in the industry joined forces to share a critical message to men with hit, Don’t Make Her Look Dumb.” Throughout the lyric-driven single, the powerful vocalists stress that women are “done” playing foolish games and that men should be transparent when involved in a romantic relationship.

Bad boys seem like a good idea/’til its too late/ It seems like you’re enjoying this, like you’re doing it for fun/ If you don’t love her, leave her, tell her that you’re done/ Just don’t make her look dumb for loving you,” they sing in the chorus.

The highly-anticipated record follows their praised album, The Way It Feels. The successful sophomore collection includes their chart-topping single “Die From a Broken Heart,” which went double-platinum.

Although we have Maddie & Tae’s fire project on repeat, many other notable names in the industry are getting creative with their songwriting. For instance – Brothers Osborne’sMidnight Rider’s Prayer,” Morgan Wade’s The Night,” “I See Stars” by The Shires, Jordan Fletcher’s hit “Firebird,” “Long Live Cowgirls” by Ian Munsick and Cody Johnson

Other buzz-worthy tunes that immediately captured our attention are from Eddie Montgomery, Tanya Tucker, Adam Doleac, Johnny Dailey, Brent Cobb, Aaron Lewis, Caitlyn Smith, Becca Bowen, Macartney Reinhardt, Josh Bricker, Chris Moreno, and Tracy Lawrence
