Brett Young has officially brought his new single “You Didn’t” on live TV!

The 40-year-old country singer was part of Live with Kelly & Ryan‘s virtual road trip to Nashville today (October 12) where he stripped down the song for a stunning performance from the Bluebird Café while talking about the reopening of Music City and his favorite things to do in town, while dropping tidbits about his new Christmas album BRETT YOUNG & FRIENDS SING THE CHRISTMAS CLASSICS, which drops next Friday (October 22).

Written by Young with Ashley Gorley, Jon Nite, Jimmy Robbins, the new ballad addresses the pain of a one sided romance to a catchy tune. And while most breakup songs can carry a vengeful undertone, Young has shared with us exclusively that he hopes the song preaches a more mature way to look at a lost love.

“If it is an underlying message I think the message is that if you really care about somebody and they don’t feel the way you do you shouldn’t make them feel bad for that, or guilty, or try to make them hurt just because you are,” Young told CS Country reporters during a media session. “If you actually care about that person and what you hear them say is that they need to go, you need to make them feel as comfortable as they can.”

Check out Brett’s full performance of “You Didn’t” below and let us know what you think of the song by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @CS_Country.

“You Didn’t” officially arrives to Country radio on November 15.
