When Brad Paisley Surprised Jimmie Allen on Stage
Jimmie Allen was one of many country stars who received an ACM Award before the star-studded ceremony. “New Male Artist of The Year,” Jimmie Allen had the opportunity to perform his latest single “Freedom Was a Highway” at the legendary Blue Bird Café.
Before Allen took the stage, Brad Paisley told the cameras his secret plan to surprise the emerging artist. “My duet partner Jimmie Allen…is about to sing our new duet ‘Freedom Was A Highway,’ but he thinks I’m out of town. So, I have driven up here and I’m gonna surprise him and go in and just start singing.”
After sharing his strategy, the star entered the venue singing the chorus of the song. “When the town was the whole world/ And love was the girl next door/ Soundtrack was a song in the dark/ I miss those days when our dreams/ were there for chasin’.”
From the look on Allen’s face, he was extremely stunned. However, his excitement did not throw him off, as the duo did not miss a beat and they delivered a perfect performance!
