Dierks Bentley & The War and Treaty Cover a U2 Classic

Bluegrass is a unique genera of music, which takes a certain type of artist to perfect. Dierks Bentley brought the heat and his new secret talent to the table at the 2021 ACM Awards, as he collaborated with Americana duo The War and Treaty for a playful and electric rendition of U’2’s “Pride (In The Name of Love.)

Bentley elevated the 1984 classic by including a fiddle, an acoustic guitar, and some soulful harmonies by Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount. Before the group broke it down and shocked music city with their sound, the country music veteran dedicated the performance to JT Gray, the owner of Nashville’s famous venue “Station Inn” who passed away last month.

According to Dierks Bentley, JT Gray was the “leader of the bluegrass community.”
