Elle King & Miranda Lambert’s Girl Power Opener

Elle King and Miranda Lambert started the party with their recent release “Drunk (I Don’t Wanna Go Home.)” The pair opened up the show in matching rhinestone outfits with floor-length cowgirl-inspired fringe at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

The two made the fun-filled performance look faultless and easy. However, Lambert told People that they had a rocky dress rehearsal. “I mean, honestly we had never sang it together live at all, and none of us done shows in a really long time, so it’s a weird feeling,” she says.

What makes this high-energy performance more mind-blowing, is the fact that Elle King crushed it pregnant with her first child. Last year, King and Lambert were nominated in the “Music Event of The Year” category for their groundbreaking cover of Elvin Bishop’s 1976 hit “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.

Now, Lambert has 68 nominations under her belt, which makes her the most-nominated female artist in ACM Award history. Lambert also joined Chris Stapleton on stage at the Bluebird Café to perform the tear-jerking track “Maggie’s Song.”
