Ryan Hurd just released a live video for his song “Wish for the World” and we can’t get enough of it.
Truly an uplifting moment during the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, “Wish for the World” is Ryan’s fan-favorite and a must-add to your playlists while quarantining at home with your loved ones.
“Wish for the World” is featured on Hurd’s latest EP Platonic, which also includes his GOLD-certified Top 20 hit, “To A T.”
“It sounds kind of cheesy when you say the title out loud but then you start getting into some of the words and that’s the last song we do in our set, and you see the people in the crowd… it really means something to them,” Ryan said to HollywoodLife of the song while discussing his headline tour this year. “You can see their faces because that’s when all the lights come on. Those are all new things for me and it’s been really fun to figure out the why and also just enjoy it.”
Back in March, Hurd signed an exclusive songwriting agreement and acquisition of his Lake Allegan Pub Club (ASCAP) and Hurdjamz (BMI) music publishing catalogs with Big Machine Music (BMM).
The catalogs includes songs recorded by Lady Antebellum (“What If I Never Get Over You,” “You Look Good”), Luke Bryan (“Sunrise Sunburn Sunset Repeat”), Diplo (“Heartless” ft. Julia Michaels and Morgan Wallen) and wife Maren Morris (“I Wish I Was,” “All My Favorite People”) as well as his own hits “Diamonds or Twine” and GOLD-certified Top 20 hit “To A T.”
BMM General Manager Mike Molinar commented, “Ryan is a dynamic artist and songwriter with a high trajectory and boundless future. The power of his music translates through both his voice and his writing, across genres, through audiences and up the charts. Big Machine Music is proud to become the steward of his catalog and advocate for his songwriting career.”
Hurd officially joins BMM’s wildly talented roster, which includes Brett Young, Brandy Clark, Laura Veltz, Jessie Jo Dillon, Eric Paslay and more.
“I love being a songwriter in Nashville, Tennessee. Over the last few years, I have gotten to know Mike Molinar and Alex Heddle on a personal and professional level. They treat songs and songwriters with amazing care and excitement, and I’m so happy to begin a new chapter with the entire publishing team at Big Machine Music,” shared Hurd.
