Breakthrough artist Matt Stell received news of a career milestone yesterday, April 1st, and had to take a moment before believing it wasn’t an April Fool’s prank. Stell received a video call honoring him with a virtual platinum song plaque celebrating his breakout hit “Pray for You”, and you can see his reaction here. Presenting him with the virtual plaque was “Pray for You” co-writer Ash Bowers, Barry Weiss, Randy Goodman, and Mitch Glazer and Jackie Jones from RIAA. “Pray for You” is one of only 30 songs in the country music genre that have been certified platinum within the last 2 years, and is Stell’s first platinum single.

His current single “Everywhere But On” is currently climbing the top 40 on country radio and is featured on his EP of the same name. Due to the world-wide quarantine Stell is hosting a weekly livestream series on his Instagram titled Penned Up, featuring special guests and performances. Stell will be hitting the road later this summer playing remaining dates on his Everywhere But On Tour and he will be joining Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts on their respective tours later this year.
