Choo choo, can I get a woo hoo?
There’s no denying that you’re in for a good time when Parmalee‘s music comes on. Whether you’re listening to the band live or through your speakers, they NEVER disappoint!
Earlier this year, the guys dropped their new Party Pack EP and it holds the band’s six most anthemic songs that are an absolute MUST at a summer party. Featuring the fiery hit “Hotdamalama,” the party takes off with a mix of some familiar tunes, like the band’s “Musta Had a Good Time” along with two new tracks that showcase the band’s signature Country-rock sound.
The one thing we love most about Parmalee is that their rebel-rousing personalities show in not only their music, but also when they are together just hanging out. Did you know that they have their own language — “Parmalisms” — that they communicate with?
“We have our own language that we talk to each other with,” lead singer Matt Thomas told us at the 2018 CMA Music Festival in Nashville earlier this month. “People are always asking us to explain the meaning of what we were saying and even suggest that we make a dictionary.”
“It actually turned into the Parmalisms series that we filmed with Sounds Like Nashville,” he continued. “We grew up rural eastern North Carolina and there’s a very distinct dialect there.”
Their favorite Parmalisms word? “Buffaloed.”
“[Buffaloed] is a term that we use for anytime you get screwed over. It’s in reference to the buffalos that got killed. The buffalos… they got buffaloed. They got wiped out,” Thomas shared.
While we’re not sure if Parmalee chats with fans by using “Parmalisms,” these sayings are easy to pick up and use hanging out with your friends this summer.
