We’re still roughly a month out until we hear Ashley Monroe‘s new album Sparrowhowever, she’s making that wait WAY less difficult, as she just released a new track off it!

Titled “Paying Attention,” the track was recorded in Nashville’s legendary RCA Studio A and is characteristically authentic as it is a reflection on heartbreak.

The song comes a few weeks after releasing the first taste of Sparrow — “Hands On You” — which will also be featured on the Dave Cobb-produced record.

“I knew I wanted to work with Dave,” Monroe says. “All of his records are consistently awesome and classic, timeless, old and new all in one.” Together, they shared their favorite records and music moments, like early Elton John LPs and Glenn Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman,” molding Sparrow into its own unique sonic space. “Country music is a wide genre, and that’s OK,” she adds. “I don’t even know what genre this record is, but I know it’s me.”

Sparrow is now available for pre-order and includes instant downloads of “Paying Attention” and “Hands On You.”
