Sandra Lynn is about to take over country music with her newest EP, Fight!
The four song release is jam packed with hits that will make you listen to it over and over again. The extended play is a testament to how Lynn has grown as an artist as she reveals deeply felt emotions and puts them into the music.
Fight also is Chapter One of a three-part series, to be released through 2018, and features four new tracks, including “Fight,” “Rest In Pieces,” the EP focus track “Somebody Kissed Me At A Bar,” and “From The Outside.” Our favorite track — “Somebody Kissed Me at a Bar” — even has a powerful music video to go along with it!
Celeb Secrets Country caught up with Sandra to talk about how she chose each song for Chapter One of Fight, which tracks are the most personal to her, and her plans for 2018. Check out the full Q&A below and make sure to follow her on Instagram at @sandralynnmusic.

CS Country: Your new EP, Fight, was recently released! Which song off the EP is most personal to you and why?
Sandra Lynn: “It’s so hard to answer this question based on one song because I wanted all four of these songs to be taken together to tell a story; they all have a purpose for being a part of Chapter One on this Fight EP. I really wanted to speak to women that have lived a little bit of life—the things we like to dish about with one another behind closed doors—our shared emotions and vulnerabilities. This EP really focuses on the ‘push and pull’ in relationships, whether it’s from personal experience or about the experiences others are having around me. I feel like a lot of us have experienced a good bit of the emotions these songs can trigger at one point or another in our lives, and that’s what makes each one so personal for the story I wanted this EP to tell.”
CS Country: What was it like to film the music video for “Somebody Kissed Me At a Bar?”
Sandra Lynn: “For the video, I worked with the same husband and wife producer/directors (Tucker Hess Productions) who shot my video for “Hey California,” and we filmed this one at a bar out in Hollywood, CA called “Adults Only” (don’t let the risqué name fool you, lol—it’s a really cool neighborhood bar). The idea was to break down the barriers between me and the audience by presenting a performance that really reflects and showcases the song’s story, which is about realizing that a former flame isn’t dead until someone else tries to sweep you off your feet. The mystery man in the video is my actor-friend, Joel Johnstone (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Astronaut Wives Club, The Newsroom) who I’ve known for years—it was a fun day on set, full of energy and great dynamic with an amazing crew of friends.”
CS Country: You co-wrote “From The Outside,” what does that song mean to you, and how did you choose the other songs to be featured on your EP?
Sandra Lynn: “These days we live in such a social-media driven society, and it’s easy to put out there only certain parts of our stories—the parts that we want other people to see. In the story of Chapter One and these four songs, “Fight” deals with a couple struggling to save their relationship and trying to figure out how far they’ll go to do so. “Rest in Pieces” deals with the couple calling it quits despite their hesitation in doing so, but ultimately they know they need to put a nail in the coffin. “Somebody Kissed Me at a Bar” is realizing you’re not over a former love, which brings us to the final song on the EP, “From the Outside.” This song reflects one of my favorite messages in that sometimes we can take others for granted in our relationships, look around, and think, “hmm, maybe I could have it better?” But the fact is, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side—you don’t actually know what’s happening in someone else’s relationship behind closed doors, and if you’re going to work at something and grow a relationship, it’s the idea of being present and not taking the other person for granted by looking at what else might appear to be around you.”
CS Country: What can we expect to see from you the rest of 2018?
Sandra Lynn: “We’ll be hitting the road and announcing live dates soon, and I’ll also have a Chapter Two, and Chapter Three EP coming later this year. Each EP will focus around a theme that continues telling the story from this Chapter One, Fight EP, allowing fans to experience how and where it evolves to, very much like that of my creative process in songwriting and song choices leading up to this project! We’ll have lots more updates and content, including up-close and personal looks into each song, videos, and more @sandralynnmusic!”
CS Country: Since we are Celeb Secrets Country, do you have any secrets or fun facts about yourself that you would like to share with us?
Sandra Lynn: “I’m dating myself here a little, but the first cassette tape I ever bought was Ace of Base!”
