Delta Rae is inviting audiences to a behind-the-scenes look at footage from their “A Long and Happy Life” video shoot.
Famed director David McClister filmed the transcendental piece in Nashville, TN after conceptualizing and collaborating with the six-piece band.
“David brought a vision to the band and we were able to give some feedback and make it personal to our story,” expressed Eric Hölljes (vocals, piano). “In this video, you’ll see artifacts from our lives, photos of family members, just a lot of personal items that are meaningful to us.”
“This song is about family and spirits and feeling the love of people that might actually not be here anymore and feeling their love around you as you continue to walk through life,” added Liz Hopkins (lead vocals, tambourine, auxiliary percussion).
Continued Ian Holljes (vocals, guitar), “The heart of life is good friends and family.”
Telling stories in four-part harmony with Hopkins and the Holljes brothers is sister Brittany Hölljes (lead vocals), accompanied by Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass). “A Long and Happy Life” is the title track from the Delta Rae’s EP, available now on The Valory Music Co. The Hölljes brothers penned the lead single, reflecting on their admiration for Southern literature and specific authors that have influenced their lives.
With a hearty schedule of headline shows on tap across 60 cities nationwide, Delta Rae made a surprise appearance at CMA Music Festival in Nashville for a pop-up performance this past weekend (6/11). Fans packed into The Big Machine Store downtown to catch an intimate yet intense performance.
