In anticipation of the Cinco De Mayo celebrations this Friday and the 25th Anniversary of “Achy Breaky Heart,” Billy Ray Cyrus has recorded a rockin’ new Spanish version of his quintessential hit titled “No Rompas Mas Mi Corazon” featuring Mexico’s popular band Caballo Dorado. The new version was produced by Cyrus and Don Von Tress and will be released on iTunes today.

Caballo Dorado, the high-flying Mexican quintet from Cuidad Juarez, Chihauahua launched their career in 1986 and took their home country by storm in the mid-90’s with a cover version of Billy Ray’s global hit and turned it into their own megasmash. The universal classic quickly elevated the group – mostly unknown at the time – to superstar status, similar to Cyrus’ career path. Like America, their version of the classic continues to be a wildly popular line dancing song across Mexico.

Cyrus asked the group to join him on the 25th Anniversary Spanish version and was thrilled when they agreed to join him and fellow country music legend, Ronnie Milsap who played keys on the new track.

“These cats had their career explode with this simple Don Von Tress song much like me,” said Cyrus who also brushed up on his Spanish to join them on the recording. “This really is a universal song, and it was a blast to have these guys record with us.”

The new version of “Achy Break Heart” is already a Top 5 Download and Top 5 Stream on PlayMPE. There are additional versions of this global hit yet to come, as Cyrus continues to surprise his fans with new ways to express this fun-loving, simple two-chord song with one verse and chorus.
