WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Humble and Kind” – Tim McGraw. McGraw made a huge splash with this music video; gaining the attention of the likes of Oprah and many more. This music video was the talk of the country scene for a long time and the huge impression that it made on fans is why we believe it will win Video of the Year.
MALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR: “Sangria” – Blake Shelton, “Like a Wrecking Ball (From 2015 CMT Music Awards)” – Eric Church, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” – Keith Urban, “Kick the Dust Up (From 2015 CMT Music Awards)” – Luke Bryan, “Break Up in a Small Town” – Sam Hunt, “Die a Happy Man” – Thomas Rhett
WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Die a Happy Man” – Thomas Rhett. We can’t lie, here at Celeb Secrets Country LOVE Thomas Rhett. Although we do love him and think he and his wife are couple goals, we believe that he genuinely deserves a win in this category. So many people spent a lot of time talking about this song and this video and we think he can edge out over the likes of Shelton and Urban. It won’t be an easy win, but we think it is possible.
FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR: “Burning House” – Cam, “Smoke Break” – Carrie Underwood, “I Got the Boy” – Jana Kramer, “Biscuits” – Kacey Musgraves, “Dibs” – Kelsea Ballerini, “My Church” – Maren Morris
WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Smoke Break” – Carrie Underwood. This category is a hard one; Underwood is in the company of some amazing women in the Country world. That being said, we believe that she will still remain queen and win this category. We were torn between “Smoke Break” and Ballerini’s “Dibs,” but ultimately, we could not overlook how great Carrie’s video is.
GROUP/DUO OF THE YEAR: “Stay a Little Longer” – Brothers Osborne, “Nothin’ Like You” – Dan + Shay, “Sippin’ on Fire” – Florida Georgia Line, “Girl Crush” – Little Big Town, “Break Up With Him” – Old Dominion, “Loving You Easy” – Zac Brown Band
WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Girl Crush” – Little Big Town. This group and this song was everywhere throughout 2015 and that is why we believe they will take the cake in this category. For months, it was nearly impossible to go anywhere or watch on Country related award show without hearing this song. The music video was no different. The huge impression it made on fans is why we believe it will win this category.
BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR: “Stay a Little Longer” – Brothers Osborne, “Burning House” – Cam, “Buy Me a Boat” – Chris Janson, “Fire Away” – Chris Stapleton, “My Church” – Maren Morris, “Break Up With Him” – Old Dominion
WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Burning House” – Cam. This year has been a great one for Cam. She has gained so much momentum so quickly and that includes this music video. We believe that she is in great company in this category, but ultimately, she will walk away a winner.
CMT Performance of the Year: “Girl Crush (From CMT Artists of the Year)” – Adam Lambert and Leona Lewis, “What’s Your Name (From CMT Crossroads)” – Brantley Gilbert and Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Smoke Break (From Instant Jam)” – Carrie Underwood, “I Want You to Want Me (From CMT Crossroads)” – Cheap Trick and Jennifer Nettles, “Nobody to Blame (From CMT Artists of the Year)” – Chris Stapleton, “Alright (From Instant Jam)” – Darius Rucker
WHO WE THINK WILL WIN: “Girl Crush (From CMT Artists of the Year)” – Adam Lambert and Leona Lewis. Of all of the performances, Lambert and Lewis’ stuck out to us. This is what led to us believing that they will win CMT Performance of the Year. This is a tough category to predict and all of the chosen performances were great, but this one in particular was one that we walked away remembering. Its memorability is why we think it will be a winner.
