Still buzzing from this week’s 57th Annual CMA Awards, Chris Stapleton’s fifth studio album Higher is everything needed and more to kick off this week’s New Music Friday.
The record sees longtime collaborator Dave Cobb co-producing this project and is comprised of Stapleton’s trademark touch – soulful vocal offerings, guitar-driven instrumentation and character. It’s been a long way since the songsmith’s debut Traveller, and somehow, the 45-year-old always seems to outdo himself every time.

The album’s first single “White Horse,” written with Dan Wilson, was released a few weeks ago and was showcased on the CMA Awards stage on Wednesday (November 8) during his show-stopping performance at the Bridgestone Arena.
Higher also encompasses other songs akin to his traditional sound such as album opener “What Am I Gonna Do,” “Trust,” “It Takes A Woman” and “Mountains of My Mind.”
HARDY has also released a few covers from his upcoming project Hixtape Vol. 3 – the third in his Hixtape series. Morgan Wallen joined the “BOOTS” singer for “John Deere Green” and Post Malone hopped on “Pickup Man.” The full project will be released on March 29th.
“You guys are familiar with my Hixtape thing. So by the grace of God, Hixtape Vol. 3 is going to be a little bit different … What we have basically done with Hixtape, is we have taken some of Joe’s vocals out and added some of the biggest singers in country music to help him out. It’s gonna be badass and I’m really excited about it.”
