Laura Ashley is gearing up for the music video release for new song “Tennessee Honey” and Celeb Secrets Country has your first look at the new visual.

The Nashville-based singer/songwriter, who released the country tune on September 3, tells Celeb Secrets Country that “Tennessee Honey” is about her real-life “Tennessee Honey” Jordan, who she met at her best friend’s wedding not too long ago.

“This song means so much to me! I used to not think I had a soul mate out there after dating some awful human beings,” Ashley tells Celeb Secrets Country. “But then I met Jordan at my best friend’s wedding and he’s been the best thing to ever happen to me. He moved to Tennessee to be with me. So he’s absolutely my Tennessee Honey!”

Known for her charming, powerful vocals and engaging lyrics, Laura’s sound is a blend of contemporary pop country with a foundation in classic homegrown roots. Evident in “Tennessee Honey,” Laura says that the song is a personal one, hoping that it will resonate with happy couples and be their new favorite track that “they can vibe and jam to.”

Knowing that she wanted to create something “fun” and “playful,” the music video shows Ashley and her man spending a day in the sun while she sings lyrics about why he’s her “Tennessee Honey.”

“The day we shot this was one of the hottest days!! We were all dripping and all trying to fit behind one small box fan for parts of the shoot,” she shared. “I was relieved when we got to the scenes where I’m actually in the pool…everyone else was definitely wanting to jump in!”

Born and raised in Rogersville, Missouri, Laura moved to Nashville to pursue music full-time in 2020. It was through many years of vocal training that Laura’s love and passion for music was developed. Laura found success by being chosen as a winner in the Dolly Parton‘s #JoleneChallenge initiated by Julianne Hough.

And while she is new to Nashville, she is not new to the music scene having opened for the likes of Matt Stell, Lindsay Ell, Carly Pearce, Danielle Bradbery, Jamie O’ Neal, and serving as an On-Air Personality for a CMA and ACM award winning country station 94.7 Today’s KTTS in Springfield, Missouri for three years. Inspired by various thought provoking moments in life, from bad experiences to breakups, Laura finds that making music helps her turn those negatives into positives.

As for what’s next, Laura says that more music is certainly on the way, along with a string of tour dates to play the new material live.
