The big event, which kicks off at 8/7c on CBS and Paramount+, features free concerts from Dierks Bentley, ZBB and Dan + Shay all around the city of Nashville including Fifth & Broadway, bars on Broadway, and the Bicentennial Mall.
“I’m very excited,” says Jones of the appearance. “Tour is very different than being on live national television in front of so many people, but it’s special.” While it’s her first time hitting the stage with ZBB for the holiday, the singer/songwriter is no stranger to Nashville’s New Year’s Eve crowd. Back in 2017, Jimmy Buffet invited Caroline to be a part of his concert at Bridgestone Arena to ring in the new year.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Caroline, the triple threat musician has been playing ZBB for three years as the opening act. This summer, Jones was a guest musician on The Comeback Tour, where she was the only female in the band since the group’s debut in 2000.
“I’ve opened for [ZBB] for three years, and this year I actually toured with them in their band as a musician and I got a deeper and more intimate look into really what makes them tick and how they are as a band. It’s a true honor to be asked to come into a successful band and where everyone already has their roles. I see them working harder than they’ve ever worked and at this point in their career that’s really inspiring to me.”
With 2021 coming to a close, the budding musician tells Celeb Secrets Country that she’s ready for a fresh start in 2022 in all aspects of life and her career. “My biggest resolution going into next year is to really let go of things before it becomes a problem. You know how we all get frustrated or let little feelings cluster? I want to work on that and not let things bother me,” she shares. “Especially because I’m an artist, so I’m a very emotional person, and when something becomes a problem, it can cause a lot of unnecessary pain. That’s my biggest discipline I’m working on now.”
In terms of new music, Jones is excited to have a “creative blank slate” since she just released an album. “You work on your album for so long and then suddenly it’s released and you feel like you have nothing to work on anymore so you have creative direction on where I go next — it’s kind of like the new year.”
You can watch Caroline perform on New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash this Friday, December 31st @ 8/7c on CBS and Paramount+.
