Good news for country fans! Singer-songwriter Blake Shelton announced that his new single “Come Back as a Country Boy” will be out tonight (October 1) at midnight.
The new single, available this Friday, extolls the virtues of living the country lifestyle. “Come Back As A Country Boy” (Michael Hardy, Josh Thompson and Jordan Schmidt) is the first of several new tracks revealed from the deluxe edition of Shelton’s Body Language, due December 3.
“I think this song is an anthem for everyday hardworking country people out there,” Shelton said. “We have so much pride in who we are and what we do that, if we ever died and got the chance to live life over again, we probably wouldn’t do it if we couldn’t be country.”

The original Body Language was released earlier this year on May 21. The album has 12 songs which include features from The Swon Brothers as well as Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani. The deluxe album will include the original twelve songs and will also have four new tracks that have yet to be revealed, but will include “Come Back As A Country Boy.”

Along with the announcement of his deluxe album Shelton is continuing his Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour with special guest such as Martina McBride, Tracy Byrd, Trace Adkins and Lindsay Ell. The tour will be making stops in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Milwaukee, Uncasville, Waterloo and Augusta from September 30 until April 6.
