Women in country music are FINALLY getting the respect and recognition they deserve!

The multi-platinum co-ed music group, Lady A invited Carly Pearce and Lindsay Ell to help kick-start the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday, June 8.

The bands leading lady, Hillary Scott gave us a taste of summer alongside of bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood in a vibrant jumpsuit – as she took the reins on their recently released 80s-inspired pop-country single “Like A Lady.”

While Scott is a strong female vocalist, she called in her girlfriends Carly Pearce and Lindsay Ell to help elevate the performance. Country music fans were left dead in their tracks when Pearce came in hot to put her fierce twist on the women empowerment anthem.

While the two took the lead, Lindsay Ell was shredding her guitar and The Shindellas were on backup vocals. Although the stage was consumed with girl power energy – we couldn’t help but notice how Haywood and Kelley supported the resilient and self-governing women.

“I love how Charles and I and all of our masculinity love singing along harmonies to this tune. It’s such a jam and we are so proud of our girl. She’s our leading lady on this one and she crushes it,” says Haywood in an exclusive Celeb Secrets Country interview.

“Like A Lady,” produced by Dan Huff, follows their No.1 hit “Champagne Night” and serves as a sneak peek into their upcoming eighth studio album, What A Song Can Do. The talented group is set to drop the highly anticipated record on June 25.

Hillary Scott wrote, “Like A Lady” alongside Dave Barnes, Michelle Buzz, Martin Johnson, and Brandon Paddock. In true feminist fashion, the songwriters pulled inspiration from the queens of country music Dolly Parton and Shania Twain.

“Brandon and Martin had started this track that really became the song that was just so energetic. The second I heard it, I was like ‘this has female anthem written all over it.’ So, we just really dug into that with a goal of hoping to really craft and write a song that would just celebrate what it’s like to be a woman and a lady,” she adds.

Now, these trailblazers are ready to share their new content live and in person. Pearce, along with Tenille Arts and Niko Moon will be hitting the road with Lady A on their 24-city tour come July 29. The award-winning trio earned a CMT Music Awards nomination for “Duo/ Group Video of the Year.”
