In the true spirit of the holiday season, Russell Dickerson is giving back to one fan in particular who has been spreading joy and hope since a terrible personal tragedy.
Sarah Frei is a 17-year-old girl from Syracuse, Utah, whose life was changed this summer when she and her friends were hit head-on by a drunk driver. Sarah became paralyzed from the waist down and had to lose both of her legs. Despite this horrible and life-changing incident, Sarah has kept a positive attitude.
While in the hospital her school’s cheerleading squad created a dance routine to Sarah’s favorite song was Russell’s “Home Sweet.”

Upon seeing the post, Russell knew he wanted to help. He teamed up with Chevy to surprise Sarah Frei with a 2021 Chevy Traverse that has been outfitted for her specific needs.
Earlier this week Russell surprised the teen during a video call that warranted a priceless reaction. BraunAbility, a manufacturing company that specializes in wheelchair accessible vehicles and lifts, customized a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse with Sarah’s needs in mind – including a fully-powered and lighted ramp, maximized cabin space, and more.
