Danielle Bradbery has a lot to say when it comes to country queen Carrie Underwood.
The rising country singer could not stop smiling on the blue carpet when talking about Underwood to our reporters at the 2019 CMT Music Awards earlier this month, saying that the 20x CMT Music Award winner is the one she’s always looked up to musically.
“[Carrie] is the country music woman that I look up to and that I’ve always looked up to. I think I’ve said that to her face and I don’t know if it came out right because she was in front of me,” Bradbery gushed. “She’s amazing and just all the power pours out of her and I’m like, ‘that’s what I want to be.'”
Since getting her start winning Season 4 of NBC’s The Voice, Bradbery since garnered multiple ACM and CMT Award nominations, as well as released two full-length albums. She stepped into her own lane with sophomore album I Don’t Believe We’ve Met in December 2017, as she re-introduced herself after taking time since her debut LP to focus on the writing process and, for the first time, infusing her own story into her songs – penning seven of the album’s 10 tracks.
This summer, Bradbery will continue touring fairs and festivals throughout the summer before starring on the CMA Introducing Nashville European tour this October as she writes new music for her next album.
