Let’s face it… when Russell Dickerson‘s new single “Every Little Thing” comes on, you know you’re about to turn up the volume and belt out the lyrics no matter where you are. It’s pretty much the song of the summer!
Russell seems to agree with our statement, as he said the release is “perfect timing” when we spoke with him backstage at the iHeartCountry Festival in Austin this month.
“We wrote all three of singles within a few months from each other, and this was like three or four years ago. [‘Every Little Thing’] is a fun up tempo one with perfect timing. You can’t plan it better than this… it’s hitting Top 30 at the beginning of summer time and it’s just so perfect.”
“[My musical influence] from back in the day is honestly Tim McGraw with Garth Brooks as my live performance influence. For current, I love Post Malone. I love trap music and all of that stuff,” he says.
“[I’ve been jamming out to] ‘Old Town Road’ a little bit,” he continues. “‘Going Bad’ by Meek Mill and Drake [is] fire, ‘Leave Me Alone’ by Flipp Dinero, and Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Space Cowboy’ are also fire.”
Up next, you can catch Russell perform “Every Little Thing” as well as his other chart topping hits on Thomas Rhett’s Very Hot Summer Tour, which he says will be “the best tour ever.”
“[I’m looking forward to] just consistently massive crowds of country music fans. Thomas Rhett is in the prime and I’m just stoked to be a part of this tour,” he shares. “We’re really good friends and we can like kind of mess with each other — we can nudge each other, try to one up each other every night — I honestly think that’s why he brought me on this tour. He knows that we’re gonna bring it every night, he’s gonna bring it, so we are going to make it the best tour ever.”
