SixForty1 are looking for two special ladies to be their “Next Kiss!”
The rising Nashville-based duo are releasing their new single “Next Kiss” this Friday (March 8), and CS Country has your exclusive first listen 24 hours before the big debut. With an infectious melody that will have you humming the chorus in no time, “Next Kiss” boasts genuine lyrics that almost anyone can relate to.
“The inspiration behind the song came from the chorus melody. After humming it a few times, the words “Next Kiss” came to us naturally. We knew the song was gonna be special,” the band tells CS Country.
“It sparked a story that a lot of us can relate to. We’ve all had a person in our lives that has been in a bad relationship and just needs to get out of it. They need to know that everything will be okay and that you’re there for them and will treat them right.”
If you’re a fan of old-school Florida Georgia Line, then you’ll love SixForty1. Just like FGL, members Brooks Hoffman and Austin Gee met in college. During their time at Murray State University, the guys were both nominated by their fraternities to take part in the school’s male pageant, Mr. MSU, hosted by a sorority on campus. After Brooks saw Austin sitting backstage with a guitar in hand, he introduced himself and the rest was history.
Though the two didn’t immediately work together (they were in rival fraternities), they later reconnected and began writing, booking local shows, playing to friends and building a fanbase. Since making the move to Music city, the guys have teamed up with Hard 8 Management’s Aaron Keiser, who’s also responsible for Brantley Gilbert’s day to day management and are in the studio working on new music.
“We are very excited for what 2019 has in store. Not only are we releasing “Next Kiss,” but we’re writing a ton of new songs and hitting the road and supporting some of country music’s biggest stars,” the band adds. “We can’t wait for our fans to hear what we’ve been working on. We plan on releasing another single or two by this fall!”
