Bailey James is getting us in the holiday spirit with her new original song “But If It Snows!”
The 15-year-old country singing sensation’s track is a song, as she describes it, “about self-inflicted heartbreak and in-decision during Christmas.” “Yeah, I called it off, but if it snows, maybe I made the wrong decision,” James tells Celeb Secrets Country exclusively.
Written by James, Julie Downs and Steve O’Brien and produced by O’Brien, this bluesy holiday country tune is sure to put even the biggest Grinch into the Christmas mood. The tune’s groovy, soulful air showcases James’ crystal-clear falsetto and impressive vocal range, while her lyrics weave a picture-perfect holiday scene. “This is my favorite time of year,” says the 15-year-old. “I’m originally from Pennsylvania where we always experience really cold, snowy winters. For me, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without snow.”
Exclusively premiering the video with CS Country, James spilled a behind-the-secret from filming:
“Before we filmed the music video, I did a photo shoot that morning. I was getting my hair and makeup done and my hairstylist decided to put extra ultra-hold hairspray in it so it’ll last all day for the photoshoot and video. As you can see in the music video, we had the fireplace on and my team was afraid my hair was going to catch on fire with all the hairspray that was used. I had no worries about sitting in front of the open fireplace, but I quickly noticed that everyone around me did! My dad got on the couch closest to me to be ready to help extinguish my hair if he had to. Obviously, nothing bad happened…It was definitely worth it though. I love how cozy the fire looks in the video!” she shared.
