We’ve gotta admit — ever since hearing Lena Stone‘s music for the first time, we’ve had a major girl crush on her!
From the infectious pop-country tunes to the honest (and personal) lyrics, we love everything about what Lena’s doing for females in country music. She started paving her own road to fame a few years ago by performing her songs every Monday night at Song Suffragettes and writing songs for other female newcomers such as Kalie Shorr and Kasey Tyndall.
Earlier this year, Stone officially stepped in front of the curtain with an absolutely stunning self-titled debut. Featuring songs like “Nervous,” “Can’t Think Straight,” and her latest single “Running Out of Red Lights,” the collection of songs has something for every type of country music fan.
“You’ll never be able to describe yourself in one song or in one project, but I think my self-titled EP was a really good way to start,” Stone told Celeb Secrets Country during the 2018 CMA Music Festival in Nashville last month.

It seems that fans and critics are just like us and loving Lena’s music, too. Since generating a huge buzz with the release of the EP, CMT added the country songstress to their Artist Discovery program as well as premiered the music video for “Running Out of Red Lights.”
“I’m such a fan of CMT and the incredible platform they have created for independent artists,” says Stone of the video’s premiere. “I’m really grateful to Leslie Fram and the whole CMT staff for their belief in me and my music!”
