Christina Taylor has been slaying 2018!
The country songstress has been out and about for the first half of the year walking the red carpet at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards, performing at the 2018 CMA Music Festival, and releasing new music.
In a sea of hundreds of female country artists in Nashville, the North Carolina native knows how to stand out with telling relatable stories through her music, showing vulnerability and emotions in her lyrics. With musical inspirations like Miranda Lambert and Eric Church, there’s endless possibilities as to where this musical journey will take her!
CS Country caught up with Christina during CMA Fest last month where she talked about performing on the Radio Disney Country stage, her current music, and what’s to come from her in 2018.

CS Country: Tell us about the song and music video for “Don’t Look Good In Your T-Shirt Anymore!”
Christina Taylor: “That was my single that dropped a year ago, which is crazy to think about because it doesn’t feel like its been that long. I went through my first breakup with my first boyfriend, so it was a hard one. I just had to get rid of all of his baggage, including his favorite t-shirt that I used to wear… but I got a good song out of it! The music video went number 4 on CMT and Radio Disney Country played it for me as well, which is absolutely insane! It brought me a lot of good things.”
CS Country: What does it mean to you to have “That Girl” played on Radio Disney Country?
Christina Taylor: “I get so many different messages from girls telling me they have been in the same situation, which is a songwriter’s dream come true. We write songs that help people through whatever they’re going through or that they can relate to, so to get that kind of response when Radio Disney Country started playing “That Girl” was absolutely amazing! Nothing can replace that feeling.”
CS Country: What does “That Girl” mean to you personally?
Christina Taylor: “That was actually the first song I wrote when I got to Nashville! That song is my baby. It was that same breakup, at that point we were really off and on, and we were on an off period… I figured out I always admire myself for being a headstrong and independent woman and then I meet this guy and I became that girl that everybody talks about. That girl that checks his social media 24/7, see what he’s doing, wondering what he’s doing, up at all hours of the night wondering who he is with, that type of thing. So I kind of realized I was becoming a little bit crazy and I thought to myself that there is no way that I could be the only one going through this. The more you talk to girls, you realize its not very uncommon to be a little crazy, even guys do it! There is a light at the end of the tunnel, you can be the girl you once were or the one you want to be.”
CS Country: You are about to play the Radio Disney Country Stage at CMA Fest! Tell us about your experience.
Christina Taylor: “Radio Disney Country has quickly become one of my biggest supporters, and I am so thankful for that! I actually just checked out the stage and the crowd is absolutely insane, there are so many people there, they are so loud, it is awesome! I am so excited to play some of my older stuff and some of my newer stuff that they haven’t heard yet!”
CS Country: What else can we expect to see from you in 2018?
Christina Taylor: “Well I am recording a new EP! I’ve recorded six songs so far. That is pretty much what I’ve been working on. I am so excited to debut it to the world and hopefully people can relate to it and it can help people go through anything that they are going through. We’ve got a wide variety of songs where it can relate to everyone. There are a ton of things that I have personally been through, so that is what makes it so special to me.”
CS Country: Since we are Celeb Secrets Country, what is a secret that you would like to share with us?
Christina Taylor: “I can do a backflip! I used to be a cheerleader, a lot of people don’t know that.”
