The nominees are here for the 2018 CMT Music Awards and the lineup is the most diverse yet!
Spanning the worlds of country, pop, hip-hop, Americana, and R&B, top nominees this year include Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean with four nominations. One thing that really makes this year’s show stand out is that artists like Bebe Rexha, Justin Timberlake, and Ludacris are up for the highest honor of the night, Video of the Year, and they aren’t even country.
According to a press statement from CMT, the diverse nominations “follow renewed ratings growth and critical acclaim for CMT music specials and events due in part to a creative refresh featuring current and genre-bending artist pairings and pro-social elements.”
Seeing artists from all genres come together for country music’s loudest night is not the only thing we’re looking forward to. One of our favorite country groups to date, Little Big Town, are hosting the award show for the first time!
