Multi-platinum selling artist LeAnn Rimes took fans back in time today, when she revealed a newly re-arranged recorded version of her first No. 1 Country Radio hit “One Way Ticket (Re-Imagined).”
This release is the follow up to “How Do I Live (Re-Imagined)” that the songstress dropped last month. The new rendition was produced by Rimes and her longtime producer Darrell Brown and recorded in Los Angeles.
The two-time Grammy Award winning artist shares: “My very first single was ‘Blue’, which blew a gigantic hole into the atmosphere and created a massive breakthrough for me. Though, interestingly enough, ‘One Way Ticket’, which was on the same album, was actually my first single to reach No. 1. Keith Hinton and Judy Rodman wrote a fantastic song, but at 13 years old, I didn’t fully grasp the deeper meaning behind the lyric. After all these years, while re-imagining some of my hits for my Remnants tour last year, we stumbled upon a slower tempo which I believe truly shines a light on the vulnerability and the courage of the lyric. ‘One Way Ticket’ hits my heart like never before. It moves me to tears quite often. I’m very blessed to have these career songs that are so brilliant they are able to take on so many forms, yet always communicate directly to the soul.”
The chart-topping song was originally featured on Rimes debut album with Curb Records Blue that released in 1996. Written by Keith Hinton and Judy Rodman, Rimes first recorded the song over 20 years ago. “One Way Ticket” spent 20 weeks on Billboard’s Country radio chart peaking at #1 for multiple weeks.
