Country sweetheart Sarah Darling tackles the subject of substance abuse in her powerful new single, “Wasted.”
The ballad was produced by Mark Bright and written 10 years ago with Josh Osborne and Mark Beeson after witnessing a friend whose significant other was struggling with alcohol abuse.

“[Wasted] happened after having a phone call with a family member who called me in the middle of the night saying that their relationship was in shambles because of alcoholism. Of course, with me being the songwriter who had a co-write the next day, I ended up writing the song. It’s the story of a person who is being completely wasted in the relationship and invisible when they could be such a beautiful thing,” Sarah told Billboard about the track.
“I feel like the release of ‘Wasted’ is going to be a worldwide experience, which is going to be a lot of fun… I think that every experience has taught me so much about myself — from being signed to being independent. I think I’ve got to be really creative over the past few years, and I can’t wait for the people to hear it,” she continued.
