After starring in CMT’s Nashville, Riley Smith has been working hard on his self-titled six track EP.

We have been awaiting this EP for quite some time now, and it definitely did not let us down. Once listening to the EP, it is easy to see how many different genres of music have influenced this amazing project. We are already craving more music from him!

Celeb Secrets Country is giving you a track-by-track breakdown on what you can expect from Smith’s debut EP. All we have to say is this — if you like Smith on TV, you’ll LOVE him on your music playlist as he is equally as good as an artist as he is an actor.

“I’m On Fire” – This song is heartbreaking; the lyrics and instrumentals demonstrate the darker side to breakups. The prominent resonating guitars compliment Smith‘s gritty and lonesome vocals.

“I Can’t Keep On Missing You” – This song’s tempo brings out the pop and rock aspects of Smith‘s country feel. The mix between these genres makes this song even more intriguing. We think the instrumentals in “I Can’t Keep On Miss You” is the best off of the EP!

“Break Something” – Imagine Brendon Urie singing country, and that is exactly what this tune makes us think of. It is an edgy country tune that shows Smith‘s ability to combine multiple genres while still forming his own unique sound.

“Mad Love” – “Mad Love” highlights the raspy and powerful vocals that Smith possesses. We love the chorus on this tune, it ties the whole song together perfectly.

“Selfish” – This is our favorite song off of the EP! Not only are the lyrics meaningful, but the tempo and background vocals are perfect for this tune! “Selfish” is by far the catchiest song on the album and we cannot get enough of it.

“Change Of A Season” –  Ask us how Smith managed to bring a Chris Brown and Maroon 5 feel to a country EP, and this is the song we would point out. The groovy but country tune, has an older pop 2000’s feel that makes it very unique. This song perfectly points out how Smith is a creative genius with this project!
