Not too long ago, Florida native Ryan Griffin was sitting in a room with Kelsea Ballerini and other songwriters in Nashville drumming up ideas for a new track. That track wound up being Ballerini’s “Dibs,” which went straight to GOLD status upon its release.
“It’s been a long journey for me. First and foremost I wanted to be a singer [I was singing before I was talking], but then the writing came after that. I went to Belmont and pursued music that way and I’ve been in town ever since,” Ryan says.
Now, Griffin has more things to brag about. He released his debut EP Sake of the Summer back in March, and has some buzzworthy of his own!
“The EP is a culmination of different life experiences that I’ve had, and it’s a sound that I’ve been working on for awhile here in Nashville. The record really wasn’t intentionally created to be a nostalgic vibe, but after listening to a bunch of songs it made sense.” Ryan told us about Sake of the Summer.
Sake of the Summer features the current single “Woulda Left Me Too,” which currently boasts over 2.3M streams. The record is definitely a good listen, as each track has a personal meaning behind it. Listen to the EP below…
