Celeb Secrets Country: Your current single, “Don’t Waste the Night” is so catchy! What is your story behind the song?
Levi: “Thank you so much. I was on the way to the writing session for “Don’t Waste The Night” and I heard this Ed Sheeran song come on the radio. I remember loving the immersive melodies and R&B style lyrics and thinking I need something like that in my set. I walked in the write and my cowriters, Josh Thompson and Matt Dragstrem, went there with me. The song immediately stood out on the road and fans kept asking when they would be able to download it. So we decided to release it!”
Celeb Secrets Country: Your debut EP is out right now! What has been the most exciting part about the release?
Levi: “We released the EP a year ago when I first began touring to give something the fans could listen to. It was a great introduction to me as an artist and my voice. That being said I’m really looking forward to all the new music and sharing it with everyone.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What is some of the feedback you have gotten from both the EP and your single?
Levi: “The feedback on the single has been amazing. I’m so thankful for the support of the artist and creative community. I had a lot of buddies like Michael Ray, Canaan Smith, and Sara Evans share it! Way cool.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What can we expect to see from you the rest of this year?
Levi: “I’m heading out on the road all summer and fall so I’ll definitely be around. I’m really looking forward to performing at Windy City Smokeout in Chicago July 15th, and also touring with Hunter Hayes in the fall.”
Celeb Secrets Country: Do you have any favorite specific memories that you love from playing with such great artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt, Michael Ray, and so many others?
Levi: “I have so many amazing memories. Each artist has their own unique and individual fan bases. I actually got to open up for Kip Moore for a run out in California and those were some of best shows. We played one show at The Filmore in San Francisco and it was just an incredible night. That venue is so historic and the crowd was way into it.”
Celeb Secrets Country: How did you feel when Rolling Stone listed you under “Artists You Need To Know?”
Levi: “It was amazing. I feel like I’m always listening to new artists and discovering new music. One of the ways I do that, other than scrolling through Spotify or Pandora, is seeing that list and checking out stats of the future. I was really excited to be included in that.”
Celeb Secrets Country: How would you describe your sound for someone who hasn’t heard you yet?
Levi: “I would say it’s somewhat pop country. But, I would also say I try to push myself to have unique melodies and a lyric style that’s all my own. I love telling stories in my songs, and I also love melodies that just get so stuck in your head. My influences are everyone from Keith Urban, Ed Sheeran, Dierks Bentley, to Jeff Buckley.”
Celeb Secrets Country: Since we are Celeb Secrets Country, what is a secret about yourself that you would like to share with us?
Levi: “A secret about myself… Well a lot of people don’t know that I played lacrosse in high school and a little bit in college. I was a goalie and I think the only reason I was any good was that I wasn’t afraid of getting hit by the ball.”
