Celeb Secrets Country: How does being an artist help you become a better person?
Parker McKay: “Just being able to articulate emotions and being able to bond with someone over a mood that you can’t really explain but you can put it into a song. Bonding with people and just feeling those parts of your soul.”
Celeb Secrets Country: Do you have any great fan experiences that you’d like to share with us?
Parker McKay: “I was playing at the WSM and this little girl was looking through the window and she was a huge fan of guitar and singers and she kept waving at me. I talked to her and I just remember what that was like, seeing people just wanting to go up to them and touch them. Like you understand me you get it. It was really nice to give that back to her.”
Celeb Secrets Country: If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be?
Parker McKay: “I mean, I love what Maren Morris is doing right now. I just think she is the coolest girl and she’s so unapologetically herself and it’s just hit after hit with her. I love the way she kind of hangs on the backs of phrases and uses in this group that’s all her own. I just love to do something with her.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What type of song would you do with her?
Parker McKay: “Something with pop but also something that’s still funky and groovy and kind of routing country. She’s amazing. It’s funny watching her go from a year and a half ago to not even being signed to this crazy year she’s had.”
