Celeb Secrets Country: What do you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you yet?
Parker McKay: “I would definitely say that it is country with a little bit of rock and a bit of pop. It’s just very Parker McKay. The best fusion I could describe it is like Sheryl Crow and Grace Potter mixed together.”
Celeb Secrets Country: Who are your top 5 musical influences?
Parker McKay: “Michael Jackson for sure. Sheryl Crow, Grace Potter, and more recently James Bay, and Maroon 5. I love that whole rock thing going on, especially early Maroon 5. I get a lot of inspiration from them.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What can we expect to see from you this upcoming year?
Parker McKay: “We’re going to focus on singles. A lot of content and a lot of shows, a lot of touring. Probably a new music video or two.”
Celeb Secrets Country: Who has been your favorite artist to open up for?
Parker McKay: “Sheryl Crow. That was incredible. I just think that she is the coolest chick on the planet.”
Celeb Secrets Country: What’s your favorite part about performing?
Parker McKay: “I think it’s just being able to articulate what you can’t just say in words but what you can say with a melody or what you can say with the mood of the song. You can articulate your emotions in a way that you can’t just in a normal conversation.”
