The track — written and produced by Mark McKee — is a flirtatious tune that is the follow up to her debut single “Take A Shot” and sophomore track “Crooked Crown,” which premiered on CS Country last year.
“Vinyl” is THE perfect song to gear up for summer, as it has the classic country sound with an island twist! The track is bound to be a breakthrough for JoLivi, and we can’t wait to see where it takes her this year.
CS Country sat down with JoLivi recently to talk all things “Vinyl,” transitioning from pop to country, and how her Hawaiian culture impacts her music. Take a read at the full Q&A below and keep up with JoLivi by following her on Instagram at @jolivimusic.

You just released your new single, “Vinyl!” What has been the feedback so far on it?
JoLivi: “So far the feedback has been amazing! Fans, friends and family having been listening non-stop. It’s one of those songs that you have to bop your head too!”
What about “Vinyl” made it stand out to choose it as your single?
JoLivi: “I wanted to put out a song that had nothing to do with heartbreak. A song about experiencing moments that are classic and unfiltered.”
How would you describe your sound for someone who hasn’t heard you yet?
JoLivi: “Soulful and Gritty.. with a little island flavor.”
JoLivi: “Growing up my mother had a great deal of CD’s ranging from all genres and styles of music. As a child I found myself drawn to the stories of country music. From James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt to Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Brooks and Dunn, George Strait, Patsy Cline, Trisha Yearwood and the list goes on.”
How did growing up in Hawaii impact your musical influences?
JoLivi: “Everywhere you went in Hawaii, to a family BBQ or out to a restaurant, there was always a band playing. My grandfather and my uncles would always be jamming on the patio or in the backyard. Music was always a constant.”
Your music video for “Crooked Crown” is amazing! Can you tell us what it was like to film that?
JoLivi: “It was awesome! We got to rent out a really cool bar up in the hills of Los Angeles and I was lucky to have two of my really good friends accompany me in the process. I have a great film crew in LA, so the environment was very chill and relaxing.”
